Barbara Sato, President of the The North End Merchants Organization (NEMO) announced the members plas at their final summer meeting this year, July 27th.
As well as the assigment of committees to include herself, as liaison to the city centennial committee, the group agreed to re-create it's July 4th display along Gulf Drive with American Flags, for Labor Day; Monday Sept 6th. There was also a consensus to call on members to support the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce and the Anna Maria Centennial Committee and help staff their booths at Bayfest on Oct 15-16. Caryn Hodge from The Chiles Group agreed to organize a gift basket with donations from NEMO members and a NEMO T0shirt that would be raffled at Bayfest. Funds would then be used to help the pier cenennial committee purchase banners. Information about NEMO and it's community outreach programs will also be distributed at Bayfest.
Additionally, the committee agreed to participate in the chambers Trail of Treats event, Oct 29 by hosting costumed kids at member business from 5pm-8pm.
